#IAMIMSC: Senior Airman Kaylee Aprea

Duty title and unit: Administrative journeyman with the Air Force Installation Contracting Center commander’s action group at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio.

Primary duty responsibilities: I assess, delegate, track and submit responses for taskers that come down from AFMC or AFIMSC. My other duties include supporting global enterprise events, managing the AFICC Facebook page, and simply helping wherever I can.

What’s the best part of your job?
Being able to communicate with a diverse group of military and civilian teammates and customers with different characteristics - such as gender, race, rank, duty title and location – and backgrounds.

Why are you and your job important to the Air Force and AFMC?
My job is important to the Air Force and AFMC because it gives me the opportunity to learn from many different angles. Giving me the opportunity to learn from many different angles makes me adaptable to different scenarios. It has taught me the ability to tackle whatever request comes my way and support the unit I am working for with the many skills I have acquired along the way.

What’s a recent project that gave you a great sense of accomplishment?
Recently, AFMC transitioned their tasker process to a system called Task Management Tool, or TMT. This transition was a unique learning curve for several units and individual workflow managers. In order to transition to the new system, all AFICC units had to take the specific training and enable their accounts.

It was a great sense of accomplishment knowing that when the go-live date came around, AFICC was prepared. This transition was important to the AFMC, so I felt a lot of weight on my shoulders to meet the suspense, especially when all AFICC units had to be prepared as well. But, we did it!

Which AFIMSC priority do you most identify with – or see yourself and your job fitting into – and why?
The AFIMSC strategic priority I most identify with is LOE 3: Pursue Organizational Excellence. AFICC has a huge focus on the AFICC Flight Plan, the Accelerate Change or Lose initiative and the National Defense Strategy. The work we do at the CAG daily supports those initiatives by communicating and collaborating amongst all personnel – locally and globally – and always being open to change to make our organization better every day.
