Colonel DEE JAY KATZER

Colonel Dee Jay Katzer is the Commander, Detachment 8, Air Force Installation and Mission Support Center, Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Virginia.  He serves as the AFIMSC Commander’s senior representative to Headquarters Air Combat Command. His responsibilities include providing responsive management of AFIMSC’s enterprise-wide assets to support Air Combat Command’s commanders, missions, 14 bases, and 170 operating locations worldwide.

Colonel Katzer received his commission from the United States Air Force Academy in May 1995.  He has commanded two squadrons and a mission support group and has served in a variety of civil engineer and staff assignments at the installation, major command, air staff and combatant command level, both stateside and overseas.

He has deployed in support Operations SOUTHERN WATCH, IRAQI FREEDOM and INHERENT RESOLVE.  Prior to his current position, he was the Civil Engineer Division Chief on the Air Combat Command staff.
