The core of a Mainspring linear generator, like the courtesy photo provided, will help power Travis Air Force Base, California, later this fall. The Air Force Office of Energy Assurance at Tyndall Air Force Base, Florida, will administer the three-month pilot program designed to determine whether gaseous fuels can power generators to produce a viable carbon-free energy source and help bolster the resiliency of defense infrastructure.
