SAMUEL D. GRABLE

Samuel D. Grable, a member of the Senior Executive Service, is the Executive Director, Air Force Installation and Mission Support Center, Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, Texas. He is responsible for effective leadership of a multi-disciplinary team of more than 4,000 federal civilian, military and non-appropriated fund personnel who execute a $10 billion annual appropriated budget that provides installation and mission support capabilities to 83 Air Force and Space Force installations, nine Air Force major commands and two direct reporting units. The center includes10 detachments collocated with the U.S Space Force and each Air Force major command, and four wing-level primary subordinate units: Air Force Civil Engineer Center, Air Force Installation Contracting Center, Air Force Security Forces Center, and Air Force Services Center.

A native of Belfair, Washington, Mr. Grable entered active duty in 1991 and served in uniform until 2016. His military assignments included staff tours on the Air Staff and Headquarters Air Force Materiel Command, squadron command, and command of an Expeditionary Mission Support Group during combat operations in Afghanistan. In his final active-duty assignment, he served as the Air Force's principal liaison to the House and Senate Appropriations and Budget Committees. He joined U.S. Customs and Border Protection in 2018 as the Chief Financial Officer, and later served as Acting Executive Assistant Commissioner, where he led more than 5,000 federal and contract personnel providing global mission support for the nation’s largest law enforcement agency.

Prior to his current role, Mr. Grable served as Director, Installation Support, at the Air Force Installation and Mission Support Center.
