JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO-LACKLAND, Texas -- Get to know the new AFIMSC command chief, Chief Master Sgt. Edwin Ludwigsen:

Q: Can you tell us a little about your career leading up to this point? I’ve served our great Air Force for about 25 years and have been a command chief for the last three years (52nd Fighter Wing at Spangdahlem Air Base, Germany, and 31st FW at Aviano AB, Italy).

Q. What about joining the AFIMSC team as our new command chief has you the most excited? My background is logistics, so I grew up on the flight line in petroleum, oil and lubricants, or POL (fuels career field). With that said, I’m excited to return to my family here at AFIMSC…very cool! I am looking forward to getting around and meeting all our AFIMSC Warfighters delivering combat capability across the Air Force.

Q. What do you want the AFIMSC team to know about you? It is an honor to be your command chief and I’m extremely grateful to be on your Team. I absolutely love the AFIMSC mission and our Airmen (capital “A”)…I firmly believe that without our Airmen and the support of our families, the mission would not happen.

Q. What do you like most about being in the Air Force? One hundred percent the family! I joined the Air Force because I needed a JOB but I’ve stayed because I fell in love with the Air Force community and family. There is no community in which Krista and I would rather raise our children: Daniel, Dillon, Ava and Ashlee and we can’t wait to meet your families.

Q. Is there anything you would like to add? As Maj. Gen. Wilcox and I get out and about, we’re eager to hear your stories and find out what we can do to help you be more successful. Please tell us what we can do for you!
