Maj. Gen. Brad Spacy, commander of the Air Force Installation and Mission Support Center, sends the following Hurricane Michael update:

Warfighters,

The devastation from Hurricane Michael affected more than 500 of our teammates at Tyndall Air Force Base, Florida. Yesterday, we completed 100-percent accountability of our military members, civilians and contractors who live and work in the area, and I am now able – and very relieved – to report no one in the AFIMSC family was harmed.

While that’s good news, our teammates impacted by the hurricane experienced a life-changing event that will affect them for months if not years to come. Keep your fellow Warfighters and their families in your thoughts and prayers as we continue to ensure everyone remains safe and that they have the support and resources they need during this incredibly difficult time. If you want to help, search the internet and donate to charities you feel will do the most good.

If you’re a member of the AFIMSC team in the Tyndall area, our highest priority is your safety and well-being. We’re in constant communication with the Air Force, Air Combat Command and 325th Fighter Wing to stay current with the situation and the actions underway to help you.
