Hurricane Michael, a category 5 storm, after it made landfall on Oct. 10, 2018 was the strongest storm to hit the continental U.S. since 2004. In the days after the storm, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers contractors in Panama City, Florida, install reinforced plastic sheeting for homes benefiting from Operation Blue Roof, a program for homeowners or landlords affected by Hurricane Michael. The program, offered by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), provides temporary covering of reinforced blue plastic sheeting to help reduce further damage to property until permanent repairs can be made.
