Air Force Gaming season 3 launches with new competition format

With the success of the DAF League, and based on customer requests, AFSVC officials decided to expand the program by adding a second league, called the Minor League. The Minor League allows for gamers of all ages, including retirees and young family members. (Air Force Graphic)

Colorado Springs Olympic Training Center

The U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Training Center are located in Colorado Springs, where Airman and Guardian Olympians will have a new home , as the Department of the Air Force will be relocating the World Class Athlete and Air Force Shooting programs to Colorado. Moving the programs from Air Force Services Center headquarters in San Antonio to Colorado puts Air Force and Space Force athletes in the heart of the U.S. Olympic training grounds, improving program management and strengthening collaboration between the Air Force and the Olympic and Paralympic Training Center. Application window opens for Olympic hopefuls

The application window for Airmen, Guardians, Reservists and Guardsmen who dream of Olympic competition is now open. Athletes can begin applying to begin their training with the hopes of competing in the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, France. Air Force WCAP athletes train full-time in their given sport, they are also required to complete all mandatory tasks required of all Airmen. Application period will be open for the next 45 days. 2022 Air Force Art Contest

Air Force Services Center manages the annual Air Force Art Contest with submissions accepted through March 31, 2022. In 2021, almost 800 artists submitted more than 1,000 pieces of art using a variety of media. Artists may submit up to two, digital photographs of their two-dimensional (2D) painting or drawing, in one of five categories, for judging. 2021 Air Force Photo Contest Winners

The Air Force Services Center recently announced its 2021 Air Force Photo Contest winners. The winners – first, second and third place in five categories – were among more than 950 entries submitted for the annual competition. This year’s theme was “What a Wonderful World.” Participants could enter up to two images for one of the categories. A panel judged each photo on impact, creativity and technical excellence. Air Force photo contest accepting submissions until Aug 13

The submission window for this year’s Air Force Photo Contest is extended to Aug. 13. The contest launched July 1 with a theme of “What a Wonderful World.” Airmen, Guardians and their families, ages six and older, are encouraged to submit their photos in five categories: Adult Novice and Accomplished categories, and Youth categories for ages 6-8, pre-teens for ages 9-12 and teens for ages 13-17. Air Force tests child care subletting app at 8 installations

The Air Force Installation and Mission Support Center is testing a mobile app designed to centralize and streamline the subletting of short-term slots at military child development centers this summer. The app, called Kinderspot, earned first place at the 2020 AFIMSC Innovation Rodeo. To design a tool that would benefit military families, AFIMSC partnered with Oddball, a digital services team specializing in transforming government software, and worked closely with the Air Force Services Center to shape the app and processes to align with other child and youth program priorities and efforts.
