MWD handlers train with local law enforcement
Batu, a military working dog assigned to the 28th Security Forces Squadron, searches strollers for simulated drugs as part of a joint-training exercise with the Rapid City Police Department at the Rushmore Mall in Rapid City, S.D., Sept. 24, 2017. The goal of the training is two-fold: become familiar with the layout of the buildings to provide a better idea of how to approach and handle a situation, and allow the handlers to gain a different perspective from civilian law enforcement.
