Retired Chief Master Sgt. Charles E. Milam holds a Golf-Club Pfälzerwald e.V. ball at the Golf-Club Pfälzerwald e.V. in Waldfischbach-Burgalben, Germany, May 11, 2017. In 1966, Milam was awarded the Air Force Commendation Medal for building a control panel out of wiring, switches, and colored light-emitting diodes that, with a realistic script, later became the simulator used by the security police controllers working at launch facilities.
