Advanced culinary skills
Erdal Akalin, an assistant manager at the Incirlik Air Base Bowling Center in Turkey, carefully applies a glaze to the hors d’oeuvres he prepared during the final day of an advanced culinary skills course offered at the Culinary Institute of America’s San Antonio campus. Akalin was one of 12 Air Force food service personnel who attended the week-long course, Oct. 5-9. The cooperative program, which is managed by the Air Force Services Activity, gives active-duty Air Force and NAF civilian employees the opportunity to hone their skills and learn new ways to improve business operations and efficiency in the kitchen.
