Teen aviation camper returns to USAFA as freshman
Freshly minted Cadet Fourth Class Matthew Carter, center, receives his shoulder boards during a ceremony, Aug. 4, 2015, at the U.S. Air Force Academy, Colorado Springs, Colorado. Carter now attends USAFA two years after finishing the on-site Teen Aviation Camp for youth exploring the academy as an option for college and a path to a military commission. "Before coming to the Academy, I had been pretty much convinced that I should go to a regular university and do ROTC," said Carter. "After my visit to the Academy, I did not have any doubts. When I left, I planned to return in two years." (Submitted photo/RELEASED)
