Explosives training prepares reservists for deployment
Staff Sgt. Jason Cohen, 482nd Civil Engineering Squadron Explosive Ordnance Disposal team member, showed Staff Sgt. Fernando Olivas-Fortin, 482nd CES EOD team member where a suspected Improvised Explosive Device was located as they participated in Counter Improvised Explosive Device training at Homestead Air Reserve Base, Fla. April 7. This week-long training entailed classroom lessons, practical exercises, dismounted operations, and a tactical operations physical exercise which was designed by team leaders to give Reserve Airmen firsthand experience dealing with IEDs when robotic means aren't feasible.
