JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO-LACKLAND, Texas -- The Air Force Services Activity is kicking off this year’s football season with new opportunities for Airmen to cheer on their favorite NFL teams with friends and family, participate in game day events and enter to win prizes throughout the season.
“Football Frenzy is an Air Force central program,” said Jonathan Boyd, Chief of AFSVA’s Nonappropriated Fund Food &Beverage Operations Branch. “This year we’ll be giving away two trips to the Super Bowl as a grand prize and tickets throughout the season to a variety of NFL games, as well as $100 NFL Pro Gift Shop gift cards.”
Each week, Air Force Clubs will host a viewing party on Sunday, Monday night or Thursday night, where members will have access to a word of the week poster that contains the MyAirForceLife Football Frenzy entry link and Quick Response code for the prize registration page online. Unlike previous years, this season also will feature events for the whole family.
“This year will be a little bit different because we will be adding the Family Football Fanatics fun days once a month,” Boyd said. “Each one of the participating installations will host a tail gate-type party that is family oriented with games and activities and an extra opportunity to win tickets to the Super Bowl.”
To take part in this season’s events and to qualify for the prizes, interested Airmen must be a member of Club Frenzy.
“Club Frenzy is an overall term used to cover seasonal events such as Football Frenzy, Fight Frenzy and Family Frenzy,” said Lt Col Darryl Lee, deputy director of operations for AFSVA. “This is our second year rolling out these programs that are designed to provide our members an opportunity to get together with their co-workers and families to enjoy the deep heritage that their clubs offer.”
He explained that joining has never been easier. Interested Airmen should go online to myairforcelife.com or stop by their club’s business office.
“Ultimately, we want the Air Force heritage of club membership to continue,” he said. “Few venues offer the chance for Airmen and their families to get together in a meaningful way that will ultimately promote unit cohesion and be good for the mission.”
