The Air Force Services Activity recently announced a new pilot program, Club Frenzy, debuting this month for Air Force Clubs.

With a focus on single Airmen living on base, families and sports enthusiasts, Club Frenzy builds on the tradition of former programs and reminds customers there are many opportunities for fun and entertainment on base.

“Air Force clubs are a great tradition and a part of our Air Force heritage. They belong to all Airmen and provide a place for hosting civic events, building unit cohesion, hosting resiliency events, relaxing and fostering a  sense of community,” said Col. Mason Pigue, AFSVA director of operations.

“We have an opportunity to build on the heritage of Air Force Clubs offering a place for Airmen and their families to go during lunch, after work or on the weekends to enjoy some food, a program or some entertainment.” he said.

Club Frenzy is an umbrella program with three initiatives: Fight Night Frenzy, Family Frenzy and Football Frenzy. Each program targets a different audience and offers free admission and prize opportunities for club members. Non-members can also attend for a nominal entry fee.

Fight Night Frenzy
Geared toward younger, single Airmen and fight fans, Fight Night Frenzy events include an Ultimate Fighting Championship pay-per-view fight and a special menu. Fights are scheduled for June 13, July 11, Aug. 1, Sept. 5 and Oct. 3. The grand prize is a trip to a UFC fight in Las Vegas for 1 club member and a guest.

Local club officials are already excited about the new program.

“It’s fantastic. (UFC events) are something the Airmen have been asking for but we just didn’t have the funds. The new AFSVA program is a great opportunity for us to give our Airmen what they want,” said Derrick Stewart, community support flight chief for the 341st Force Support Squadron at Malmstrom Air Force Base, Montana.

Family Frenzy
Aimed at families, Family Frenzy is scheduled to run once a month, starting May through September, on a Wednesday or Thursday. The event consists of themed meals and entertainment: Hollywood Nights, All-American Night, Take Me Out to the Ballgame and Dog Days of Summer. Participating clubs will give away a $50 force support squadron gift card at each event. The grand prize is a trip to Disney for one lucky club card member and up to three guests.

Football Frenzy
Football Frenzy is the third program and features National Football League Thursday Night Football with themed tailgate menus. The program is aimed at young, single Airmen living on base. Participating clubs will give away a $50 FSS gift card at each event and 20 club members, 10 from each region (East and West) will receive two regular season NFL game tickets to the game of their choice during the 2016 season.

The Club Frenzy program will be monitored and evaluated later this year.

“If our Airmen deem the pilot program as successful as our research tells us it will be, we are prepared to expand to more installations,” Pigue said. For more information about Air Force clubs and available programs and services, contact your local club or visit www.myairforcelife.com/clubs.
