Air Force names Best of Show at Mission Audition 2015

Some of the most talented members of the U.S. Air Force gathered here last month to compete in Mission Audition 2015; the first stage of the Air Force’s Entertainer of the Year competition.

Sixty-one active duty, Guard and Reserve members from across the Air Force competed in six categories, and the selection of a Best of Show winner.

This year’s top winner, taking home the coveted Best of Show award, is instrumentalist Airman 1st Class Javier Rodriguez with the 100th Security Forces Squadron at Royal Air Force   Mildenhall in the United Kingdom.

Rodriguez now competes against best of show winners from the remaining two components of the Entertainer of the Year competition, Operation Talent Search and #VocalUpload. 

Videos of Rodriguez and the winners of the other two competitions will be posted on www.MyAirForceLife.com/Entertainer this fall, and ID card holders will get to vote for one of the three to become the Air Force Entertainer of the Year.

In addition to competing for awards, the contestants at Mission Audition auditioned for the 2015 Tops in Blue team. 

The winners, announced at a banquet here March 2,  are:

2nd Place: Senior Airman Patrice Majewski, 548th Operations Support Squadron, Beale AFB, California

Male Vocalist
1st Place: Staff Sgt. Steven Lucas, 496th Air Base Squadron, Moron Air Base, Spain
2nd Place: Senior Airman Jeremy Karcher, 779th Aerospace Medicine Squadron, Joint Base Andrews, Maryland

Vocal Self-Accompanied
1st Place: Airman 1st Class James Pratt, 28th Civil Engineer Squadron, Ellsworth AFB, South Dakota 
2nd Place: Senior Airman Charles Jones, 375th Force Support Squadron, Scott AFB, Illinois

Instrumentalist
1st Place: Rodriguez
2nd Place: Master Sgt. Mark Washington, 39th Communications Squadron, Incirlik AB, Turkey 

Dance
1st Place: Senior Airman Marcus Ward, Jr., 436th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, Dover AFB, Delaware
2nd Place: Senior Airman Shakira Tiggett, 460th Mission Support Group, Buckley AFB, Colorado

Technician
1st Place: Senior Airman Christopher Hayes, 96th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, Eglin AFB, Florida
