Laughlin Air Force Base, Texas -- Col. Brian Hastings, 47th Flying Training Wing commander, presented Air Force Commendation Medal's to Master Sgt. Cameron Engleman, 47th Civil Engineer Squadron deputy fire chief, and Technical Sgt. Patrick L. Ogborn, (first Oak Leaf Cluster),47th Civil Engineer Squadron NCO in-charge of fire prevention, for their unselfish and immediate measures that directly contributed to aborting cardiac death and saving an Airman's life.
The Air Force Commendation Medal was established March 28, 1958, and may be awarded to members of the Armed Forces of the United States below the grade of brigadier general who, while serving in any capacity with the Air Force, distinguish themselves by heroism, outstanding achievement, or by meritorious service not of a sufficient nature to justify a higher award.
