JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO-LACKLAND, Texas – It’s Mission Monday. Meet Tech. Sgt. Ana Mendez, Noncommissioned officer in charge of executive support, Chaplain Corps Division in the Air Force Installation and Mission Support Center's Installation Support Directorate.
In this position, she manages administrative requirements for the division, enabling compliance, readiness and resources across the enterprise.
We asked Mendez, a Rockford, Illinois, native to tell us a little more about herself and the work she does for the Department of the Air Force.
What do you love about your job?
Engaging with Airmen and Guardians across all Air Force specialty codes and learning what their jobs entail.
When it comes to your job, what keeps you motivated?
Being able to ensure Airmen, Guardians and their families are spiritually prepared for personal and professional success.
Why are you and your team important to the Air Force and Space Force enterprise and your customers?
The Chaplain Corps Division ensures compliance, maintains readiness and executes funding for 1,075 personnel across 82 locations who promote respect and religious freedom across the DAF.
Describe a project or event you and your team worked on recently that gave you a great sense of accomplishment:
We equipped Chaplain Corps senior leaders with tools and solutions for resourcing and advancing standards while increasing efficiency during the annual summit.
How does what you do support AFIMSC’s strategic priorities?
Equipping teams to provide on-site religious services supports warfighter operations. We also aligned $700,000 for Strong Family structure programs promoting resiliency for Airmen, Guardians and families.
