What’s the best part of your job?
The wonderful people I work with and support.
Why are you and your job important to the Air Force and AFMC?
I’m part of a team that provides integrated facility engineering management, centralized program execution, design and construction expertise and technical services that optimize Air Force and joint capabilities through sustainable installations.
What’s a recent project that gave you a great sense of accomplishment?
Before coming to this directorate, I was the deputy of environmental operations. In fiscal year 2020, I actively supported the acquisition of seven fence-to-fence contracts which provide environmental services to 10 installations. These are 5-year contracts with a negotiated cost of $74.2 million and cost savings of $31 million or 29.5%. They enable us to maintain a compliance rate of over 99% for environmental plans and permits at the installations.
Any claims to fame?
I worked on the early development of the F119 engine which powers the F-22 Raptor!
Do you follow any mantra?
One of my favorite quotes is by Carl Buehner and it goes, “They may forget what you said — but they will never forget how you made them feel.”
Which AFIMSC value do you identify with the most and why?
Responsiveness. As a service organization our job is to support the mission by enabling our customers; the installations. We need to be responsive to their needs and meet current and future mission requirements.
