#IAMIMSC: Senior Master Sgt. Joseph Croswait

Duty title and unit: Facility Sustainment, Restoration and Modernization Analysis Superintendent, AFIMSC Installation Support Directorate, Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, Texas

Primary duty responsibilities: I oversee the development of business rules for facility sustainment that outline how much funding an installation earns to maintain infrastructure. Additionally, I provide analysis of sustainment earned based on an installation’s real property records.

What’s the best part of your job?
Getting a 30,000-foot view of how the Air Force earns and allocates funding for base infrastructure.

What’s a recent project that gave you a great sense of accomplishment?
Capturing, for the first time in Air Force history, the sustainment design costs from the construction task order and getting it reflected in our requirement. This added $86 million to our annual sustainment requirement earned from the Office of the Secretary of Defense.

Which AFIMSC value do you identify with the most and why?
I most identify with Trust and Transparency: We are driven to earn trust through transparent processes and services to enable the force to deliver lethality anytime, anywhere. I like this value because it focuses on earning the trust of our customers (the installations), and emphasizes that we are providing a service and not just oversight.
