#IAMIMSC: Emilie Miller

Duty title and unit: Innovation Program Analyst, AFIMSC Expeditionary Support Directorate, Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, Texas

Primary duty responsibilities: As part of the AFIMSC Innovation Team, I get to meet and help intrepreneurs – Airmen innovators across the Air Force – share, develop their ideas. We work hard to foster these ideas, and support intrepreneurs through the innovative process to help bring new, critical technologies to life within the Air Force.

What’s the best part of your job?
I get to learn all kinds of new things every day from passionate people who are striving to make the Air Force better!

What’s a recent project that gave you a great sense of accomplishment?
The Wing Feedback App is a winning idea from our inaugural Innovation Rodeo in 2019. It provides an opportunity for Air Force members, family members, retirees, and civilians on base to provide feedback on base services in real time to improve performance and support our Contracting Officer Representatives in their duties. We are currently testing the app with a few users, and are excited to share with Joint Base San Antonio soon!

Any claims to fame?
Completed my MBA in 6 months while working full time! Lots of late nights and missed friends, but got it done.

Do you follow any mantra?
Wake Up. Kick Butt. Be Kind.

Which AFIMSC value do you identify with the most and why?
Innovation is an easy pick, I am lucky enough to do it full time! Closely tied to it is empowerment and the awesome power of all Airmen, regardless of rank, to share their ideas, and even create them in their free time to propel the Air Force forward! I love being a part of this innovation world!
