Air Force announces 2016 Art Contest winners

The Air Force recently announced the five winning artists from its 2016 Air Force Art Contest. This year there were a total of 2,177 art entries in the youth and adult categories.

First place winners in each category were Makayla Lewis of Aviano Air Base, Italy (youth 6-8); Adriana Koertner of Ramstein AB, Germany (youth 9-12); Jaycie Tate of Hill AFB, Utah (youth 13-17); Chris Senkbeil of Ramstein AB (adult novice); and Staff Sgt. Matthew Knopf of Buckley AFB, Colorado (adult accomplished).

A panel of art experts judged the contest and selected first through third place for each category. First-place winners in each category received a $300 Amazon gift card, second place a $200 gift card and third place a $100 gift card.

The next program to hit the streets is the 2017 Air Force Photo Contest. Submissions will be accepted May 1-30. More information will be available at the end of this month at www.myairforcelife.com.
