Virtual Reality (VR) Firefighter Training Demonstration

The Air Force Civil Engineer Center’s CE Lab is a program researching, developing, testing, and evaluating using Virtual Reality technology for firefighter training. Currently they are roughly 25% into the program, which has been fully funded. Test Well

This test well in Starr County, Texas, will be used to determine whether a power plant using geopressured geothermal systems can generate the clean energy needed for a base to achieve energy resilience. Meet Garey Payne, an acquisition program manager with the Air Force Civil Engineer Center’s Natural Disaster Recovery Division at Tyndall Air Force Base, Florida. CEMIRT continues to power Air Force

During the COVID pandemic, the Air Force’s Civil Engineer Maintenance Inspection and Repair Team, or CEMIRT, sustained the Air and Space Force missions by rapidly responding to CE-related issues across the globe preventing mission disruption. Despite travel restrictions and health concerns, the CEMIRT team executed 390 requirements at 85-plus installations stateside and globally. The CEMIRT team supports installations enterprise wide with a suite of civil engineering-associated maintenance and repair capabilities, including electrical and mechanical systems; power production, aircraft arresting systems, heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems.
