Inside the white box: Milestone by milestone, the cadet chapel comes back

A construction crew aboard an aerial lift raise the final weather-resistant panel, signed by members of the restoration team, into position, March 6, 2026, marking a milestone in the Air Force Installation and Mission Support Center's restoration of the U.S. Air Force Academy Cadet Chapel in Colorado Springs, Colo. The panel system forms the Chapel's new weather barrier, a waterproofing layer the original 1962 construction lacked. (Courtesy photo by JE Dunn)
