Gopher Tortoise

A gopher tortoise, outfitted with a radio transmitter, moves into its new starter burrow at Eglin Air Force Base, Fla. Approximately 4,300 gopher tortoises have been moved into a new habitat on the Eglin range, as part of the Air Force conservation effort to protect and grow the tortoise’s population.
