Okaloosa Darter
Over 95 percent of the habitat for the endangered Okaloosa darter resides at Eglin AFB, Fla. A two-inch perch-like fish found only in the streams at at the base, was removed from the federal list of Endangered and Threatened Wildlife June 28 thanks to the dedication of dozens of partners during the 30-plus-year conservation effort.
