The Air Force Installation and Mission Support Center Public Affairs capability helps the Department of the Air Force advance mission priorities by ensuring public affairs professionals have the training, resources and support they need to successfully conduct their environmental, continuous evaluation, security and policy review, and broader worldwide communication programs.
Unit Self-Assessment Reviews
AFIMSC helps PA offices in the field communicate critical needs to wing commanders and Air Force leaders. AFIMSC reviews unit self-assessments in the Management Internal Control Toolkit to ensure units provide standardized, timely and accurate program assessment results. Through unit self-assessment training and reviews of 104 units resourced to provide PA capabilities at the wing and equivalent units, AFIMSC maximizes effectiveness of Air Force inspection programs and delivers continual evaluation trend analysis to decision makers.
Environmental Support
AFIMSC supports Air Force environmental program objectives by communicating the service’s commitment to public involvement and environmental excellence.
Security and Policy Review
AFIMSC coordinates higher-level reviews of material originating at the wing-level for timely public release. The division averages about 400 review cases annually and conducts program training with public affairs units around the world.
Public Affairs Operations
AFIMSC conducts PA operations to support transparency, ensure consistent and accurate messaging, protect operational security and enhance awareness of AFIMSC’s role in national defense. AFIMSC PA maximizes storytelling opportunities and ensures consistent messaging by serving as the central point of contact and reach-back support to installation leaders and public affairs offices for all I&MS programs in AFIMSC mission sets.
Readiness
Major Command Functional Managers and Functional Area Managers deliver responsive and integrated agile combat support training and readiness for I&MS capabilities. MFM and FAM experts evaluate personnel placements to provide global career field manpower, manning, unit type code management and force development that ensures installation leaders receive trained and mission-ready professionals.
