The Air Force Installation and Mission Support Center provides logistics functional management, readiness and intermediate installation support to all Department of the Air Force installations. AFIMSC provides enterprise management for deployment and distribution capabilities to fully support I&MS commanders. AFIMSC works in partnership with the Air and Space Forces to provide enterprise-wide air and ground transportation, logistics plans and program analysis, and traffic management support capabilities.
Air and Ground Transportation Support
The logistics readiness team provides intermediate-level oversight, policy guidance, continuous evaluation and process improvement recommendations for air and ground transportation. These recommendations optimize innovation, standardization, training and compliance for operations across the enterprise to support the rapid delivery of air and space power anytime, anywhere. The team’s influence directly enhances overall mission accomplishment and increases the lethality and readiness of air and ground transportation Airmen to execute transportation capabilities across the full spectrum of military operations.
Logistics Plans Support
AFIMSC provides installation deployment readiness personnel with subject matter expertise focused on logistics planning and execution. The center promotes innovation as a true force multiplier to strengthen the ability of each installation to successfully respond to wartime taskings, contingency operations and emergency action plans. This includes virtual reviews of installation support agreement programs to promote effective and efficient delivery of vital base operating support across the full spectrum of Air and Space Force missions.
Traffic Management
AFIMSC’s Traffic Management team supports active-duty Air and Space Force Traffic Management Operations, or TMO, by enhancing efficiencies in the movement of DoD cargo/materiel and personnel on official government travel. Traffic Management provides intermediate oversight, ensures adherence to governing policy and provides subject matter expertise and assistance to installation TMOs, major commands and direct reporting units to ensure the rapid movement of critical assets and materiel. Cargo and passenger movement experts interpret regulatory guidance, provide policy determinations, analyze shipping and travel processes, track trends and assist logistics readiness squadrons in meeting vital mission needs.

Readiness
Major Command Functional Managers and Functional Area Managers deliver responsive and integrated agile combat support readiness for I&MS capabilities. MFM and FAM experts evaluate personnel placements to provide global career field manpower, manning, unit code management and force development that ensures installation leaders receive trained and mission-ready professionals.
