PHILLIP G. BORN

Phillip G. Born is the Director of Studies, Analyses, and Lessons Learned for the Air Force Installation and Mission Support Center, Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, Texas. He directs the day-to-day operations of the directorate to deliver innovative and optimized globally and cross-functionally integrated installation and mission support capabilities across AFIMSC’s nine portfolios, supporting 83 Air Force and Space Force installations.

Mr. Born began his career in 1997 upon graduation from the U.S. Air Force Academy and served on active duty for 27 years. He has held various positions at the squadron, wing, major command, and combatant command levels, culminating his military service as the Commander of the Air Force Security Forces Center before retiring in 2024. Prior to his current position, Mr. Born was the Deputy Director, Studies, Analyses, and Lessons Learned, Air Force Installation and Mission Support Center, JBSA-Lackland, Texas.
