Chief Master Sergeant David N. Briden is the Chief Enlisted Manager, Headquarters Air Force Installation Contracting Center, Air Force Installation and Mission Support Center, Air Force Materiel Command, Wright Patterson AFB, Ohio. Chief Briden leads over 700 military and civilian contracting professionals responsible for an acquisition portfolio of more than $55B. He is the principal advisor to the AFICC commander on all enlisted personnel matters. Chief Briden develops, reviews, and implements policy, guidance, and procedures concerning operational planning, doctrine, employment, deployment and configuration of contracting assets affecting assigned personnel across eight major commands and their 77 units. He ensures the readiness of military contracting personnel for deployment in support of global contingency and humanitarian operations. Chief Briden also provides input to the Chief, Enlisted Policy, SAF/AQC, and Air Staff senior contracting leadership on issues impacting the Air Force contracting workforce.
Chief Briden is native of Oklahoma and entered the Air Force in June 1999. His career fields have included Radiologic Technician, Security Forces, and Contracting. His contracting background includes various duties in operational contracting including Squadron Senior Enlisted Leader, NCOIC, Flight Superintendent, Unit Deployment Manager, and Unit Training Manager. Working above wing level he has held positions as Manager AFICC HQ, and Functional Area Manager supporting MAJCOM and Headquarters Air Force. His assignments include bases in Florida, Mississippi, Alaska, Ohio, United Arab Emirates, and Washington State. He has deployed in support of Operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom as well as operations in Libya. He also provided contracting support for NORTHCOM during multiple Hurricane recovery efforts.
