The Air Force Financial Services Center, located at Ellsworth Air Force Base, South Dakota, is responsible for the processing and payment of temporary duty and permanent change of station travel entitlements for travel performed outside of the Defense Travel System. This includes wounded warrior travel, attaché travel, threatened member travel, travel of families of deceased AD members, and evacuee travel. The AFFSC also reviews all remission requests in support of the Air Force Remissions Board.
In 2007, the AFFSC opened its doors when the Air Force consolidated travel pay and military pay services processing from financial services offices worldwide to a single location at Ellsworth AFB. The AFFSC supports over 400,000 active duty, Title 10 Reservists, and Department of the Air Force civilians serving at 96 bases and locations spanning nine major commands and the Air Force District of Washington.
