#IAMIMSC: Capt. Amy Bragg

Duty title and unit: Resource Management Chief, AFIMSC Detachment 8, Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Virginia

Primary duty responsibilities: Liaise between the AFIMSC resource management team and the Air Combat Command headquarters team to gather pertinent budgetary data and disseminate to the ACC stakeholders to better assist their mission execution.

What’s the best part of your job?
Interacting with the different ACC teams to learn the unique complexities behind each one and how they’re tied together.

What’s a recent project that gave you a great sense of accomplishment?
I visited all of my bases in my major command and a good chunk of my tenants to discuss what the detachment does for their teams, met with the comptrollers to hear their concerns, and explained how the detachment can work between AFIMSC headquarters and ACC to help them accomplish their missions.

Any claims to fame?
Happy to be here, proud to serve – ain’t no shame in my lack of fame.

Do you follow any mantra?
Sometimes we forget that we’re all in this together and end up using our own unconscious biases against ourselves. But from a macro perspective, the fundamental drive is the same across the board: get the mission done. Every day may not be good, but there is something good in every day; we just have to be willing to see the silver lining when the clouds are grey.
