Col. Stuart Churchill is the Deputy Commander of the Air Force Installation and Mission Support Center. The center serves as an intermediate-level headquarters responsible for providing installation and mission support capabilities to 83 Air Force and Space Force installations, nine major commands and two direct reporting units with an annual budget of approximately $13 billion. One of six centers assigned to AFMC, the unit's cross-functional team integrates security forces, civil engineering, base communications, logistics readiness, installation ministry programs, public affairs, services, operational acquisition, and financial management across 10 detachments and four primary subordinate units. The units are the Air Force Civil Engineer Center, Air Force Installation Contracting Center, Air Force Security Forces Center and Air Force Services Center.
Prior to his current position, Col. Churchill was the commander of the 27th Special Operations Mission Support Group at Cannon Air Force Base, New Mexico. In this capacity he provided base support and services activities to ensure the 27th Special Operations Wing mission readiness, including facility construction and maintenance, housing, food service, law enforcement, fire protection, explosive ordinance disposal, disaster preparedness, communications, personnel support, lodging, recreation, supply, contracting, transportation, logistics plans and other base services supporting over 14,000 military and civilian employees, their families, and retirees.
Col. Churchill began his Air Force career in September 1994, enlisting as an Airman Basic and rising to the rank of Technical Sergeant before earning his commission in August 2004 from the Officer Training School. Since commissioning, he has served in a variety of Financial Management leadership positions at various levels including wing, major command, sub-unified command, Headquarters Air Force, and combatant command. Throughout his career he deployed on multiple occasions supporting Operations Southern and Northern Watch, Iraqi Freedom, and Enduring Freedom.
