FIRST LIEUTENANT ANDREW DONLIN

Donlin received his commission from the U.S. Air Force Academy in 2015.  He competed on the Academy Handball team from 2011-2015 and served as Team Captain during his Firstie (Senior) year.  Lt Donlin was also the collegiate top scorer in the nation in 2014.

The lieutenant became a member of the Air Force World Class Athlete Program in November 2018.  Lt Donlin has been a member of the USA Team Handball Men’s National Team since 2016 and first competed internationally in 2012 with the USA Junior National Team while still at the Academy.  Lt Donlin has also been a member of the USA Beach Handball team since 2016.

Lt Donlin was selected for the USA Junior National team in 2012 where he competed in the IHF Trophy Cup in Mexico City, Mexico.  In 2015, he was the Captain of Team USA, represented by USAFA, at the World University Games in Gwangju, South Korea.  In 2016, Lt Donlin made his debut with the Men’s National Team at the Pan American Championships in Buenos Aires, Argentina.  Lt Donlin led the USA Beach Handball team in scoring in their first ever appearance at the World Championships in 2016 in Budapest, Hungary.  He also led the tournament in scoring and led Team USA to a Bronze medal at the Pan American Beach Handball Championships in 2018 in Oceanside, CA.  He also finished in the Top 10 in scoring at the 2018 Beach Handball World Championships in Kazan, Russia.

Most recently, Lt Donlin was a significant contributor to USA Team Handball’s victory over Canada in a 2-game, Pan American Games qualification series in September 2018.  Lt Donlin is doing most of his training for WCAP with a professional club team in Dormagen, Germany.  Lt Donlin hopes to aid Team USA in Olympic qualification via the Pan American Games in July 2019 in Lima, Peru. 

Lt Donlin is the oldest of four children and his sister, Colleen, is a Division 1 swimmer at Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA.
