Evaluation team uses non-destructive testing on JBER Airfields

U.S. Air Force Capt. Benjamin Johnson, Air Force Civil Engineer Center’s Airfield Pavement Evaluation Team branch chief and U.S. Air Force Master Sgt. Jill Reed, AFCEC APE superintendent, uses Geographical information surveying software to calculate results to determine or estimate location and structural capacity during an evaluation of Bryant Army Airfield at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska Dec. 17, 2018. The two-person team used non-destructive testing to assess potential non-visible pavement damage at all of JBER’s airfields following the Nov. 30, 7.0 magnitude earthquake, whose epicenter was located just north of the base.
